e.g. singing, composition or storytelling

Residencies:
longer term projects working with people of all ages and abilities in schools, museums, hospitals, residential homes, gardens or businesses

Collaborations:
music for poetry, dance or theatre

Commissions:
Kismet can write a piece of music to mark a special event e.g. a birth, birthday, naming ceremony, house blessing, opening of building / start of a new project etc.

Seasonal celebrations:
Kismet have a particular interest in marking the seasonal changes throughout the year and would be delighted to bring their experience and repertoire to you. They are able either to hold or support your celebrations.

The Kismet Ceilidh Band:
a new dance band in Oxfordshire

Inspired by the recording of their latest CD ‘The Dance Goes On’, Melissa, Jackie and Kath have succumbed to their unashamed love of playing music for dances and have formed the Kismet Ceilidh Band. Together with well-known Oxfordshire guitarist Jon Fletcher, who adds dynamic rhythm to their inventive arrangements, they play everything from wild Scottish reels and hornpipes to stately Bulgarian and Armenian circle dances and passionate Israeli Wedding dances.

They’ve even created tunes and dances of their own – fancy a whirling slip jig for sets of three (called Gooseberries!)? All dances are called, so everyone, young and old, can join in. And for those of you who would rather not be told what to do, they intersperse the dances with a few of their own numbers for radical free dancing. Perfect for parties, weddings and feasts.
